Another TUI flight from Cape Verde to Manchester had to made a diversion, following similar incidents past week.
Wednesday, July 9 2025, the TUI flight BY557 from Espargos to Manchester diverted to Málaga, in Spain.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 departed SID Airport to Manchester on time but, looking at the route, it shows the crew already had planned the diversion to Málaga, which could be for an operational reason.
The aircraft (registration G-TUMX) landed after 3 hours and 30 minutes of flight in middle of the night at 02:35 CEST.
One hour later, the flight resumed to Manchester Airport where the flight landed at 05:00 BST instead of scheduled 03:40 BST.
This follow two incidents involving a TUI Boeing 737 MAX past week:
A TUI Boeing 737 MAX to Cape Verde returned to Manchester and was met by fire trucks upon landing Thursday, July 3, 2025.
Another TUI Boeing 737 MAX 8 to Cape Verde experienced an issue, forcing diversion to Gatwick.
