Few days after a technical issue involving a TUI Boeing 737 MAX 8, the same aircraft type was forced to divert to London Gatwick this morning.
The TUI Airways flight BY864 to Rabil, Cape Verde departed Nottingham this morning at 08:45 BST, delayed for almost one hour.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 climbed to 35,000 feet on the Southern route until the crew decided to turnaround over Brittany, France.
Pilots descended to 30,000 feet and contact Air Traffic Control about a possible technical on the aircraft (registration G-TUMF).
The flight was vectored to London Gatwick Airport and circled at 4,000 feet then at 6,000 feet during few minutes before attempting the approach.
It landed finally landed on runway 26L at 12:30 pm BST, 3 hours and 30 minutes after departure. The plane has reached a remote stand to park.
