Aeroflot flight from Phuket to Moscow diverted to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport following technical issue.

The flight SU277 departed Phuket about one hour late today Monday, February 10 2025 and stopped the climb at 15,000 ft before entering a holding pattern.

The Boeing 777-300ER (registration RA-73158) then climbed to 22,000 ft while pilots had to deal with landing gear issue. According to source, the wheels could be retracted but the gear’s door would not close.

The aircraft then descended to 12,000 ft over the sea to start dumping/burning fuel in order to reduce the weight prior an emergency landing.

After holding for 2 hours, the aircraft headed to Bangkok but circled at 10,000 ft for another hour.

The flight finally landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport almost 5 hours after departure.
