A man in his 20’s has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of carrying out terror offences, including activity in Syria
A young man has been arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of carrying out terror offences.
Counter-terror detectives from the Metropolitan Police detained the man, a British national aged in his 20s, in a pre-planned operation after arriving in the country on a flight from Turkey.
He was arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, encouraging terrorism, and disseminating terrorist publications.
The Met said the preparation of terrorist acts related to suspected offending in Syria.
The force said he remains in custody at a South London police station.
In a statement, the Met said: “Counter-terrorism detectives have arrested a man at an airport in London in a pre-planned operation.
