A Boeing 767 was forced to divert to Dublin following a mechanical issue.
United Airlines flight UA127 departed Rome Fiumicino Airport Wednesday, October 8 2025 at 15:17 for a 9-hour flight to Washington IAD.
The Boeing 767-400ER (registration N66056) was cruising at 34,000 feet already over Atlantic when the crew decided to divert due to an engine issue.
The flight was vectored towards Ireland then circled at 4,700 feet over the Irish Sea to burn fuel to reduce the weight.
Once landed on runway 28L at Dublin Airport, the aircraft was met by emergency vehicles before it parked to stand 313C.
The aircraft is still under inspection, the airline confirmed the diversion and didn’t provide yet any details about a possible rescue flight.
