In a move that underscored his unwavering passion for aviation and hands-on leadership, STARLUX Airlines Chairman Chang Kuo-wei personally piloted the airline’s first Airbus A350-1000 on its delivery flight from Toulouse, France, to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) on January 6, 2026.

Chairman Chang, a former pilot himself, is renowned for his deep understanding of aircraft operations and a meticulous approach to airline management. His decision to take the controls for this crucial delivery flight is a testament to his dedication and a symbolic gesture emphasizing the importance of this new flagship aircraft in STARLUX’s growing fleet.

The journey, which began in Toulouse, the home of Airbus, covered thousands of nautical miles, culminating in a smooth landing at TPE, where the aircraft was greeted with a celebratory water cannon salute. aviation enthusiasts and industry insiders alike watched with keen interest as the charismatic chairman, often referred to as “Captain Chang,” demonstrated his piloting prowess.

“Bringing our first A350-1000 home is an incredibly proud moment for STARLUX Airlines,” stated Chairman Chang upon his arrival. “This aircraft represents the future of our long-haul operations, offering unparalleled comfort, efficiency, and a truly luxurious experience for our passengers. To personally fly it here is a privilege and a powerful reminder of our commitment to excellence in every aspect of our service.”

The Airbus A350-1000 is the largest variant of the A350 family, celebrated for its advanced technology, fuel efficiency, and spacious cabin design. For STARLUX, the introduction of this aircraft will enable the airline to further expand its intercontinental network, particularly to North American and European destinations.

Passengers can look forward to an elevated travel experience featuring STARLUX’s signature cabin products, including state-of-the-art inflight entertainment, gourmet dining, and exceptional service across all classes.
