Amid tensions between Israel and Iran, Qantas cancels direct flights between Perth and London.
Qantas is forced to cancel its direct flights between Perth and London Heathrow Airport as rerouting more West would increase flying time and then a real payload/fuel challenge.
Flights #QF9 from Melbourne to London via Perth are cancelled at least for the next three days as well as return flights #QF10.
The flights are operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft during almost 18 hours between Perth and London.
Depending on the flight paths, it sometimes flies North of Iranian’s airspace or over Iraq.

The Qantas alternative is to reach London with a 4 hour stopover in Singapore to refuel with new flight #QF209 in place.
Qantas’ other flights to and from London (QF1/2) are unaffected as they operate through different flight paths.
