A united Boeing 777-300ER to San Francisco returned to Frankfurt less than 2 hours after departure due to toilets issue.
One of the toilets on the aircraft (registration N2243U) overflow, causing discomfort to passengers and an unpleasant odor German newspaper Bild reported.
The flight from Frankfurt to San Francisco suffered a toilet malfunction shortly after takeoff on Friday, March 29, causing dirty water to leak into the cabin.
The crew attempted to solve the problem while circling over the North Sea at 29,000 ft but was unable to find a solution. Pilots decided to return to Frankfurt.
On Friday, March 29, United Flight 59 returned to Frankfurt following a maintenance issue with one of the aircraft’s lavatories.

Affected passengers stayed overnight in Frankfurt and were rebooked on a new flight to San Francisco the next day.
The aircraft in question, operated the flight UA59 on March 31 and landed in San Francisco.
