A United Airlines flight bound for Taipei, Taiwan, was forced to turn back to San Francisco International Airport after a disruptive passenger refused to remain seated in his economy class seat.
The incident occurred two hours into the flight on July 20th, prompting the airline to take action to address the disruptive behavior.
The Boeing 777-300ER landed back in SFO more than 3 hours after the departure.
United Airlines later confirmed the incident, stating that the flight was returned due to a disruptive passenger, and the aircraft eventually departed for Taiwan after the situation was resolved.
Law enforcement officials met the aircraft upon its return to San Francisco and removed the passenger from the plane.
According to reports, the passenger repeatedly visited the business class cabin despite flight attendants’ instructions to return to his designated seat.
