First Global Airlines inaugural transatlantic passenger is leaving Glasgow Airport to New York JFK.

The Airbus A380 (registration 9H-GLOBL) is taking off form runway 05 at GLA Airport.

The first revenue flight is departing Glasgow today then the return flight will be on May 21 from New York JFK.

The the route from Manchester to New York JFK will open, departing May 21 returning May 25.

Global Airlines is a British startup airline aiming to revolutionize transatlantic travel by reintroducing the Airbus A380 into commercial service.

The airline’s fleet currently includes two Airbus A380 aircraft, making it notable for being the first new operator of the A380 in several years. The first aircraft, registered as 9H-GLOBL, was previously operated by Singapore Airlines and Hi Fly Malta. The second, 9H-MIP, formerly flew for China Southern Airlines.
