Gatwick to launch fund to boost internal UK flights if it wins contest with Heathrow to get an additional runway
Gatwick has offered to create a £20m fund to cater for more domestic flights if it wins out over Heathrow.
The two airports are in competition to get an additional runway with each showing off the benefits of their own plans.
To help win their new runway, the Sussex airport said, if selected, it will provide £20m to spread the benefits of the new landing strip around the UK rather then focusing them solely on London.
