A Delta Air Lines pilot was taken into custody on Saturday after a flight arrived at San Francisco International Airport.
The Boeing 757 (registration N587NW) from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport performed a go around due to fog-related visibility issues at San Francisco International Airport.

Eyewitnesses reported that about ten officers, including personnel from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), boarded the aircraft immediately after landing. They proceeded directly to the cockpit and detained one of the pilots for a reason still unknown.
Passengers said the other pilot appeared visibly surprised and told those who inquired that he “had no idea what just happened.” Authorities reportedly avoided making the arrest mid-flight to prevent alerting the suspect.
Delta Air Lines has declined to comment, referring all questions to law enforcement. The Department of Homeland Security has not released details about the reason for the arrest or the identity of the pilot involved.
