An American Airlines jet carrying more than 100 people made an emergency at Cold Bay Wednesday morning.
Cold Bay Mayor Candace Schaak said the Boeing 787 landed at about 9:45 a.m. carrying a total of 114 people.
American Airlines spokesperson said that the 787 diverted to Cold Bay after “an indicator light in the cockpit reported a possible mechanical issue.
Alaska Airlines plane flew all of the passengers to Anchorage in the evening. Once in Anchorage, the airline provided hotel rooms for the night. The plane departed shortly before 8 p.m. All bags were also transferred.
A replacement aircraft will take passengers to Chicago today.
