EmiratesBoeing 777-300ER flight #EK653 enroute to Dubai returned to Maldives few minutes after take off for an emergency landing in MLE airport with 362 passengers on board.
- UPDATE 1958 UTC Emirates #EK653 returned to Male due to suspicion of fire in cargo compartment.
- UPDATE 2001 UTC Cargo compartment is under inspection. So far no trace of fire.
- UPDATE 2020 UTC Passengers inside departure hall after the emergency landing.
