An Indian fighter jet has crashed during a flight demonstration at the Dubai Air Show today.
A HAL Tejas light combat aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed during a demonstration at the Dubai Air Show today around 2:10 PM local time.
The aircraft plunged from display altitude near Al Maktoum International Airport and a plume of black smoke was reported overhead.
The Indian Air Force confirmed the crash occurred around 14:10 local time and announced the death of the pilot, with a court of inquiry now underway to determine the cause of the accident.

The HAL Tejas is an Indian single-engine, 4.5 generation, delta wing, multirole combat aircraft designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited for the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy.
