An Airbus A350 from San Francisco to Istanbul was forced to make a stop in Copenhagen.
A Turkish Airlines flight en route from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Istanbul Airport (IST) was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Copenhagen on Saturday, December 13, 2025, due to a medical emergency on board.
Flight TK80, operated by an Airbus A350-941 aircraft with the registration TC-LGJ, had departed San Francisco on Friday, December 12, at 18:43 PST. The aircraft was cruising at an altitude of 39,000 feet when the crew initiated the diversion.
The decision was made to land at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) to ensure the passenger requiring urgent medical attention could receive immediate care. The aircraft landed safely at 14:09 local time on Saturday.

After the passenger was disembarked and attended to by medical services, the ground crew prepared the long-haul flight for its continuation. The flight is scheduled to resume its journey to Istanbul at approximately 16:00 local time.
