An Airbus A321 suffering technical issue, forced pilots to turn around after takeoff from Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
American Airlines flight AA1717 departed Chicago O’Hare International Airport today at 10:38 CDT, about 30 minutes behind schedule to Vancouver, Canada.
The Airbus A321 (registration N923US) climbed to cruising altitude of 32,000 feet when the crew decided to turn around due to engine issues according to Flightradar24.
The flight descended to 21,000 feet then circled at 15,000 feet on its way back to ORD Airport.
After landing landing on runway 27C, 3 hours after departure, the aircraft was met by emergency vehicles then taxied to the gate.
The airline is scheduling a new departure at 8:32 PM.
