A Delta Airbus A330 suffered a serious engine incident after takeoff from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
Delta Air Lines flight DL237 departed Amsterdam Schiphol Airport runway 36L yesterday at 12:00 CET to Tampa, Florida, USA.
The Airbus A330-300 (registration N831NW) stopped the climb at only 3,200 ft as the pilots was dealing with Engine #1 issue.
The aircraft circled for a while but didn’t have time to dump fuel before the crew decided to return to AMS Airport for an emergency landing.

It was vectored to Runway 06 where it landed only 25 minutes after departure and was able to taxi to the gate.
The airline stated to AIRLIVE: “Due to a mechanical issue with the aircraft, we have canceled this flight. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.”
According to passengers on board, an explosion was heard on the left side of the plane.
The A330 is still at Schiphol Airport more than 24 hours after the incident.
