A flight from Heathrow to New York turned around and returned to London.
British Airways flight BA117 departed London Heathrow today at 08:23 GMT for a 8h 5m flight to New York JFK Airport.
The 27 year-old Boeing 777-200ER with registration G-VIIJ took off from runway 27L and climbed to 34,000ft but turned around between UK and Ireland.
The aircraft descended to 20,000ft then 15,000ft on its way back to London Heathrow Airport. It landed on runway 27R about 2 hours after departure and is now parked at a remote stand of the Airport.
The airline is confirming the flight is delayed but doesn’t give details for now.
The same flight yesterday was cancelled. The Boeing 777-200ER G-VIIC returned to stand.
