Six-aircraft order marks major fleet upgrade and expands China’s future widebody cargo capacity.
Beijing, China — 14 November 2025 — Air China Cargo Co., Ltd. has signed a purchase agreement for six Airbus A350F freighters, becoming the first airline in mainland China to order Airbus’s next-generation cargo aircraft.
“The introduction of the A350F to our existing mixed cargo fleet will improve operational and maintenance efficiency. The A350F will strengthen Air China Cargo’s resilience and support our long-term stable development,” said Wang Hongyan, Vice President of Air China Cargo.
Airbus welcomed the order, emphasizing the aircraft’s efficiency benefits. “We are delighted to welcome Air China Cargo as the latest customer for the A350F,” said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales for Commercial Aircraft. “The A350F delivers new-generation efficiency, performance, and unmatched loading flexibility. We look forward to supporting its smooth entry into Air China Cargo’s operations.”
Headquartered in Beijing, Air China Cargo is the country’s only national-flag cargo airline. Since June 2025, it has operated dedicated freighters across North, East, South, and Southwest China. The carrier now serves 25 all-cargo international routes reaching major destinations in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Its freighter and belly cargo network is further expanded through more than 1,500 global trucking routes.
The A350F, engineered as the world’s most advanced next-generation freighter can carry up to 111 tonnes over 8,700 km, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines that deliver up to 40% lower fuel burn and CO₂ emissions compared with previous-generation aircraft.
As of the end of October 2025, the Airbus A350 Family had accumulated 1,445 orders from 63 customers worldwide, including 74 A350F orders from 12 operators.
