Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport is having fuel issue forcing some long haul flights to reroute to other airports.
While at least two flights have been cancelled today, some other are rerouted to other airports to refuel. About 500 aircraft movements are expected today.
A Lufthansa Boeing 747-800 was forced to fly to Durban (DUR) before heading to Frankfurt.
The aircraft (registration D-ABYD) made a 47-minute short flight to refuel at Durban Airport.
The Lufthansa flight LH573 is expected to leave at 9:50 pm and to arrive in Frankfurt at 7:50 am.
