The flight #AF345 departed Montreal Sunday, October 27 2024 at 18:15 EDT for a 6-hour flight to Paris CDG.
After crossing the Atlantic, the Airbus A350-900 descended from 40,000 ft cruising altitude and started approach to Shannon.
Air France flight AF-345 was travelling from Montreal, Canada to Paris in France when shortly after 2:30 am, while the flight was about 45 minutes west of Ireland,
The crew made contact with air traffic controllers in Ireland shortly after 2:30 am. A short time later, the crew made another radio contact with controllers to advise about a medical emergency on board.
The plane landed at 03:03. A a male passenger in his 60s was suffering a suspected heart attack.
The crew requested medical assistance to be available to them on arrival. Airport authorities were advised of the diversion while the National Ambulance Service was alerted.
The aircraft (registration F-HUVL) continued to Paris at around 4:30 am.
