A Qantas Dreamliner performing flight from New York to Sydney via Auckland made an unexpected landing in Fiji.
Wednesday, October 2 2024, Qantas flight #QF4 departed New York to Sydney via Auckland. A long flight of 16 hours over the Pacific.
But only 1 hour from New Zealand, the Boeing 787-9 (registration VH-ZNN) made an unexpected detour, landing in Nadi, Fiji around 4am due to fog in Auckland.
Unfortunately, the crew then timed out so the flight was unable to continue to Auckland.
After half a day on the ground in Fiji, and after a fresh crew arrived, the Dreamliner continued direct to its final destination of Sydney Airport.
