A Russian Special Detachment aircraft flew to Washington and New York City for diplomatic mission.
A Ilyushin Il-96-300 departed Vnukovo Airport in Moscow on Thursday, October 3 2024 and flew to the North as the European airspace is closed to Russian aircraft.
The plane had to get around Finland before crossing the Atlantic and landing at New York JFK 9 hours and 50 minutes later to pick up UN personnel.
On the same day, the aircraft flew to Washington for another diplomatic personnel rotation.
Two days later, on Saturday, October 5 2024, the Il-96 departed Washington to New York JFK.
The aircraft is now en-route to Russia, over Murmansk oblast at the time we’re writing this article.
