Three Boeing 777-200ERs will be transported by road from Jeddah to Riyadh to become part of the “Boulevard Runway” attraction.
These retired aircraft will feature in a new tourist hub with restaurants, shops, a cinema, and an escape game.
Three planes will head from Jeddah to Riyadh, where they will be used in “Boulevard Runway” and will be part pf a number of diverse experiences and events.
Each of these aircraft has been flying around the world for nearly 18 years, and each has had unique stories with air crews, ground crews and even passengers.
The first aircraft, which carries the registration HZ-AKG, entered service in March 1998, and was retired in September 2016. It is the first B777-200ER aircraft retired by Saudi Airlines.
The second aircraft, with registration HZ-AKK, entered service in September 1998 and was decommissioned in September 2016, the second aircraft to be decommissioned.
The third aircraft, with registration HZ-AKP, entered service in March 1999 and was decommissioned in June 2017.
This model is still in service with several companies around the world, including United Airlines, which still operates the second Boeing B777-200, which is 30 years old.
