HOUSTON — A British Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner experienced a hydraulic leak warning while approaching Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) on Saturday, October 31, 2026, but landed safely and completed its return flight to London later that evening.

Flight BA195 departed London Heathrow (LHR) at 10:15 GMT, roughly 30 minutes behind its scheduled departure time. The long-haul transatlantic journey proceeded smoothly across the Atlantic until the aircraft entered U.S. airspace, where the flight crew reported a “left hydraulic leak” warning on the flight deck.

After assessing the situation, the pilots declared the issue to air traffic control and confirmed they would continue as planned to Houston.

The aircraft, a Boeing 787-9 registered as G-ZBKC, initiated its descent into the Houston area and lined up for approach. It landed without further incident on Runway 8L at 15:40 CDT, completing the flight in 9 hours and 47 minutes.

Following the touchdown, the flight crew took standard precautionary measures for a potential hydraulic system issue, deciding to keep the trailing-edge flaps deployed while taxiing to Gate 14 at Terminal D to avoid cycling the system unnecessarily.

Engineers inspected the aircraft on the ground in Houston and cleared it for service. The Dreamliner subsequently performed the scheduled return leg, Flight BA194 back to London Heathrow, departing with only a minor delay of approximately 30 minutes.
