A Russian airline Boeing 737-800 almost landed on a runway under construction at Grozny Airport.

This morning of 07 Sep 2024, an Utair Boeing 737-800 aborted landed when the pilots realized they were about to land on a parallel runway still under construction

The aircraft was performing flight #UT742 from Antalya Turkey to Grozny, Chechen Republic of Russia.

Footage shows the 737 (RA-73089) of Utair approaching Grozny airport early this morning from Antalya as flight UTA742.

The flight from Turkey was scheduled to land on Runway 08/26 of the Kadyrov Grozny International Airport (GRV), but was on final approach the parallel runway, still under construction.

After the go around, the crew performed a second attempt and made a safe landing on the active runway.
