Corsair flight SS926 turned around over Normandy shortly after takeoff this Thursday, May 2, 2024.
The plane departing from Paris was supposed to cross the Atlantic, heading to Guadeloupe.
Flight SS926 was to connect Paris-Orly airport to Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe. Scheduled to depart from Paris airport at 12:15 p.m., the plane took off 32 minutes late towards the Antilles and everything did not go as planned.
After less than an hour of flight, the A330-900 (registration F-HSKA) turned around. The captain explained to the passengers that the plane was experiencing a problem and that they had to turn back.
After landing back at Paris Orly airport, the aircraft was met on the tarmac by firefighters.
The airline indicates that a failure “on one of the three hydraulic systems” of the plane forced the aircraft to turn around to carry out repairs.
