It’s now confirmed, British Airways Boeing 747-400 “BOAC” is being scrapped at St. Athan.
The Boeing 747-400 G-BYGC arrived at St. Athan on May 27th 2019 and has been stored there.
It was the first of three BA jumbos to be painted into a special livery to celebrate 100 years of British Airways.
A new picture shows the APU has been removed as well as the engines and right wing has been cut.
The aircraft with registration G-BYGC was maintained as a heritage piece by aviation specialists ecube in the BOAC ‘Gold Speedbird’ livery used between 1963 and 1974.
