Flights operations to be affected at London Heathrow Airport on Monday during events around the Queen’s state funeral.
Heathrow Airport says 15% of its schedule will be altered on Monday, as a mark of respect to ensure the skies over London fall quiet during events around the Queen’s state funeral.
Affected operations :
- Flight operations will stop before the 2 minute silence at end of the funeral.
- No arrivals 1.45PM- 2.20PM for hearse procession.
- No departures 3.03PM-4.45PM for ceremonial procession via Long Walk to Windsor Castle.
- Reduced departures 4.45PM-9PM for Committal service at St George’s Chapel.
British Airways is cancelling 100 flights and Virgin Atlantic is cancelling 4 flights.
British Airways plan to fly larger aircraft on some short haul routes to have more passengers capacities. Passengers will be contacted later today if their flights are affected.
