Lufthansa has planned to fly its Boeing 747-8 Jumbo Jets and Airbus A350s on short-haul Intra-EU routes to Palma De Mallorca this summer, in response to a huge surge in bookings.
The airline said that bookings for the flights to Mallorca between April and the beginning of June 2021 increased by 25 times.
The Boeing 747-8, offering up to 364 seats across business and economy class, will operate four flights from Frankfurt on four Saturdays in a row starting 17th July. This route is typically operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft.
Flight LH1152 will depart from Frankfurt Airport at 10:20, arriving in Mallorca at 12:25, whereas the return flight LH1153 will depart from Mallorca at 14:25 and arrive back in Frankfurt at 16:45.
In addition to this, the Airbus A350 will operate a special flight from its home in Munich to Mallorca on 31st July. The A350 will be offering 293 seats, 48 in business class and 245 in economy class.
Flight LH2658 will depart from Munich at 09:50, arriving at 12:00. The return flight will leave from Mallorca at 13:30, landing back in Munich at 15:35.
