An American Eagle flight to Charlotte was forced to divert to Charleston due to severe thunderstorms. The flight was being operated by Republic Airways.
The Embraer ERJ-175 regional jet was performing flight AA4798 from Key West International Airport, Florida, to Charlotte, North Carolina, on Tuesday. However, due to bad weather, it was forced to divert to Charleston Air Force International Airport.
After landing at Charleston, passengers spent hours sitting inside the aircraft, however, thinking that passengers have been frustrated, the captain ordered pizza and Coca-Cola to cheer up the passengers.
The passengers spent around two hours on the ground in Charleston before heading to Charlotte at 19:18 EDT, arriving in Charleston at 20:06 EDT.
In a statement, an American Airlines spokesperson said:
“We’re incredibly proud of the American Airlines team and our regional partners, including Republic’s crew members, who take great care of our customers every day. Rain or shine, our team consistently proves they’re the best in the business.”
