The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) from the crashed Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737 data has been downloaded successfully, including the crucial last minutes of the flight that crashed with no survivors.

Divers found the CVR of the 26-year-old Boeing 737-500 under thick mud on the seabed on March 31.

However, the recording data from flight SJ 182 that crashed on January 9 cannot be disclosed publicly at this stage of the investigation, Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) investigator Nurcahyo Utomo said.

Investigator Nurcahyo said that it contains four audio channels, including recordings of the captain and first officer.

“Each (channel) has the last two hours, including the record of the flight that crashed,” said Nurcahyo.

In February, a preliminary report released by investigators said the plane had an imbalance in engine thrust that eventually led it into a sharp roll and then a final dive into the sea.

The aircraft plunged about 3,000 meters in less than a minute before disappearing into the Java Sea, killing all 62 people on board shortly after takeoff.
