British Airways’ last Airbus A318 “baby bus” made its last flight from Madrid to Enschede on Wednesday, 17th February.
The Airbus A318 with registration G-EUNA departed Madrid as flight BA9279 at 13:17 CET and landed at Twente Airport at 16:24 CET. The aircraft will be dismantled and recycled at AELS.
The aircraft was retired last year after British Airways suspended flights from London City to New York City.
British Airways used to have two Airbus A318 aircraft, to operate flight BA1 from London City-Shannon-New York JFK. The return flight BA2 was non-stop from JFK to London City.
British Airways started the route in 2009. BA1/BA2 was a business class only service with 32 seats. This route mainly attracted business travellers.
