A high ranking Australian Federal Police (AFP) officer has attempted a world record by pulling a C-17 Globemaster by himself. Commander Grant Edwards is the AFP manager of the Americas and use to compete in Strongman competitions, retiring from them in 2000. He is also a mental health advocate. He managed to pull the 190 tonne Globemaster more than 5 metres (16.4 feet). He had pulled a 40 tonne Hercules once before.

Commander Edwards has previously had a 1 year tour of Afghanistan training local police officers. He had also been placed in charge of the cybercrime division within the AFP previously.

The record attempt was in an effort to raise awareness of mental health issues with first responders, and help remove the stigma surrounding mental health and law enforcement officials. He himself has recently admitted to battling PTSD and depression.

The pull was held at Dover AFB in Delaware, USA, during the Thunder Over Dover airshow. Paperwork needs to be submitted in the hope that it will be classed as an official world record.
