Avianca flight experienced a bird strike in Ecuador and landed minutes later.
An Avianca Airbus A320-214 aircraft stopped climbing at 10,800 feet while operating flight AV1663 from the Guayaquil International Airport, (GYE), Ecuador, due to a bird strike incident just after taking-off from Runway 21.
Aircraft has received damage to the nose Radome due to the bird strike on 31 March 2025.
The aircraft that was headed to Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO) returned back to Guayaquil for a safe landing after a 22-minute flight.
