A flight from Bangkok to Moscow-Sheremetyevo made an emergency landing at New Delhi DEL Airport.
A Boeing 777-300ER operated by Russian airline Aeroflot, registered RA-73142 and flying as SU273 from Bangkok to Moscow-Sheremetyevo with over 400 passengers on board, was forced to make an emergency landing in Delhi at approximately 3:50 p.m. local time on Tuesday due to a brief odor of melted plastic detected on the aircraft.
Aeroflot stated that no smoke was visible and the landing was carried out in line with standard safety protocols.

After the unscheduled stop, the continuation of the flight to Moscow was delayed due to the need for a technical inspection and the crew exceeding their allowable duty hours. The flight was subsequently canceled.
Talks were ongoing with Indian immigration officials to arrange lodging and border clearance for the affected passengers.
In the meantime, Aeroflot staff were providing food and refreshments, and efforts were being made to rebook passengers on alternative flights.
The aircraft was ferried to Moscow the day later.
