Bergen Airport in Norway suspended flight operations for two and a half hours after locals noticed a drone in the area.
The airport is the second largest in Norway, in a year it serves more than 6 million passengers. In addition, it is located near the main Norwegian naval base in Hoonsvern, one of the largest in northern Europe.
“We don’t know if there were drones yet, but we are sure that there was at least one,” the police spokesman said.
In addition, another drone was spotted in the area of a small airport in Ferda, and his work was also briefly interrupted.
In recent weeks there have been numerous reports of the emergence of drones near Norwegian oil and gas production platforms and infrastructure.
Avinor reported that in 2022, drones have been observed 50 times at civilian airports, including 27 times since July.
