An Air India Express Boeing 737 sustained damaged after hitting an electric pole while landing at Vijayawada International Airport in Gannavaram, India.
The aircraft landed as flight IX1676 from Doha to Vijayawada with 64 passengers on board. The aircraft departed Hamad International Airport at 10:25 am and landed in Vijayawada at 4:48 pm local time.
“All 64 passengers on board the flight and the crew are safe,” said Vijayawada airport director G Madhusudan Rao.
The lightening pole beside the runway is seen completely smashed to the ground. A large dent is also visible on the far end of the aircraft’s right-wing.
Air India Express said that it had ordered an investigation into this incident.
