A small Beechcraft 55 aircraft made an emergency landing on Interstate 95 just south of State Road 520 during Monday’s evening rush hour.
The Beechcraft Baron came down on top of a car, but remarkably, all three people involved—the two occupants of the plane and the woman driving the vehicle—sustained only minor injuries.
The driver, who was pulled from her damaged Toyota Camry by bystanders, appeared shaken but alert. “Do you know how much I loved my car?” she said with a nervous laugh. “Am I the only one who got hit?”
Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the incident, and the FAA is expected to be notified as part of the standard procedure for aircraft accidents.
