A huge blizzard is on its way to the US east coast and is expected to leave near-record levels of snow on Washington DC and surrounding states.
Philadelphia Airport tweets to say that all flights to the airport are cancelled on Saturday because of a major storm approaching the region.
50 million locals have been warned of a “potentially paralysing storm” on Friday which could see 24 inches of snow within hours.
The blizzard is likely to affect other airports on the east coast of the US.
It is definite that the storm will bring road and air travel to a halt.
