Storm Amy is causing disruption to flight operations around Ireland and the UK today, with Dublin Airport confirming multiple cancellations as the severe weather system moves across the region. Wind speeds are due to increase in the Dublin area this afternoon, threatening further impact on flight schedules.
As of mid-afternoon Friday, 20 flights have been cancelled at Dublin Airport as Storm Amy intensifies. Earlier in the day at 10:30 a.m., airlines had cancelled 12 flights (6 inbound and 6 outbound), with the number climbing as conditions deteriorated throughout the morning.

At 2:20 PM local time, wind gusts are up to 39 kt and increasing, and pilots are reporting windshear.
The airport authorities warned that further cancellations and delays are possible as the day progresses. “As always, passengers due to fly later today should keep in touch with their airline for latest updates on the status of their flight,” Dublin Airport advised.

Met Éireann Orange Warnings
Met Éireann has issued Status Orange wind warnings for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo, indicating dangerous weather conditions with potential for significant impacts. The national weather service forecasts that Storm Amy will bring very windy or stormy conditions with heavy rain quickly extending countrywide from the southwest.
Severe and potentially damaging gusts will occur widely across Ireland, with strong to gale force and gusty south to southwest winds reaching storm force for western and northwestern coastal counties.
