An A380 flight to Singapore returned to Germany after U-turn over Azerbaijan.
Singapore Airlines flight SQ325 departed Frankfurt Airport, Germany Thursday, September 25 2025 at 21:56 CEST for a 12-hour flight to Singapore.
The Airbus A380 (registration 9V-SKU) climbed out form runway 07C to 35,000 feet over Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania then Turkey.
But while cruising at 31,000 feet altitude in Azerbaijan’s airspace, the crew decided to turn around over the Caspian Sea due to a possible mechanical issue.
The A380 landed on runway 07R, 8 hours and 55 minutes after departure then taxied to a remote stand of Frankfurt Airport.
The airline just confirmed the flight has been “delayed” without giving any more details about a possible new departure time.
