A Virgin Atlantic flight to JFK Airport has turned around before crossing Atlantic.
Virgin Atlantic flight VS127 departed Manchester today on time at 14:00 GMT for a flight to New York JFK Airport.
The Airbus A330-300 (registration G-VUFO) climbed to 36,000ft towards West then crossed Irish airspace but turned around before crossing the Atlantic, about one hour into the flight.
The flight landed back in Manchester on runway 23R, 1 hour and 55 minutes after takeoff.

Flight VS127 to New York has been required to return to Manchester Airport after a customer took ill inflight and needed immediate medical attention on the ground.

The flight is scheduled to resume in about one hour.
