An all-female crew, including pop star Katy Perry, are getting ready to blast off on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket.
Popstar Katy Perry, television personality Gayle King and journalist Lauren Sanchez are among six women who will board Blue Origin’s NS-31 mission.
Other crew members include former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
The launch window in Texas for the 11-minute flight opens at 08:30 CDT.
During the 11-minute journey, the New Shepard crew will soar past the Kármán line — the internationally recognized boundary of space — experiencing several minutes of weightlessness and panoramic views of Earth through windows that cover more than one-third of the capsule’s surface.
