During the award ceremony, Elon Musk and Mathias Döpfner, CEO of Axel Springer SE discussed several topics. “Tesla is trying to make sure things are going well for the future on Earth and SpaceX is a good future beyond Earth” Musk said. He also recalled that he had founded SpaceX in 2002 mainly to help humanity become a multiplanet species. He plans to send an unmanned vehicle within just two years to the Red Planet that could be used to deposit the survival infrastructure necessary for the first arrivals.
