An Airbus A321 on final approach to Phoenix became too close to a Boeing 737.
On 24 feb 2025 an American Airlines A321 (registration N926UW) was on final to runway 26 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport when the approach clearance was cancelled.
ATC required the flight to turn right heading 360 but a Southwest Boeing 737 was crossing the flight path are about same altitude (4,000ft).
The SouthWest flight WN3606 from Los Angeles was ordered to turn left immediately to avoid mid air collision.
The approximate separation was only 1.0 NM horizontal and 100 feet vertical.
