An air traffic control system failure at Paris Orly Airport tower is forcing airlines to cancel 40% of flights.
Arrivals are currently regulated at a reduced rate due to ATC equipment (Radar failure) in the tower..
The French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) asked airlines to reduce their flight schedules by 40% at Paris-Orly airport on Sunday afternoon, May 18.
“The DGAC’s technical teams are fully mobilized to restore a return to normal as quickly as possible,” specifies Civil Aviation.
Air France, Transavia, and Vueling canceled some flights Sunday afternoon, mainly outbound, Aéroports de Paris reported on its website. Toulouse, Tunis, Palma de Mallorca, Rabat, and Alicante are among the affected destinations. In total, some 130 flights have been canceled.
