An Emirates A380 grounded since pandemic has resumed flights, more than 5 years after her last flight.
The 19 year old A380 MSN 007 returned to commercial service yesterday for the first time in more than 5 years.
Back in action!
The plane mouvement was spotted by Flightradar24 yesterday. The flight EK925 departed Dubai DXB to Cairo. The Airbus A380-800 (registration A6-EDF) operated a flight with passengers, a first since March 2020.

The World’s Largest A380 Operator
As of 2025, Emirates operates over 100 Airbus A380s, making it the largest operator of the type by a significant margin. The airline began taking deliveries in 2008, and since then, the A380 has become a cornerstone of its long-haul fleet. Despite Airbus ending production of the aircraft in 2021, Emirates continues to rely on the A380 for many of its high-density and flagship routes.
A Symbol of the Emirates Brand
The A380 is more than just an aircraft for Emirates—it’s a brand symbol. It represents the airline’s commitment to innovation, comfort, and global connectivity. The aircraft’s iconic presence, both in the sky and on the tarmac, has become closely associated with the luxury and scale of Emirates’ operations.
