1982 born Buttigieg serves as the 19th United States secretary of transportation, having been sworn in on February 3, 2021.
Buttigieg is slated to leave office in 2025, and he will be replaced by President-elect Donald Trump’s appointee, Sean Duffy, the former Fox News host.
